Military Order of the Purple Heart
The Newark, Ohio Chapter 840 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) was chartered February 1, 2011. We are a veterans service organization comprised solely of combat wounded veterans. Our mission is to foster an environment of camaraderie and goodwill among combat veterans, promote Patriotism, support necessary legislative initiatives, and service to all veterans. Our tax status is I.R.C. Section 501 (C) (19) and I.R.C. Section 170 (C) (3).
How we use donated funds?
1. Claims assistance (via our V.S.O.)
2. "Cell Phones For Soldiers" program (mailing costs, etc.)
3. Nursing home visits (area veteran clients)
4. Veteran emergency travel (vetted by our service officer)
5. Chaplain Program (Memorial Observance - if desired by family)
6. Chapter Expenses (Flags, Plaques, Print Costs, Adm fees - bank, Flowers etc.)
All funds are used for central Ohio area only. We have no paid positions.
